Batman V Superman Trailer Finally Released

The long awaited trailer for Batman V Superman is finally here.  Although a fair amount of information related to this movie has been released, such as character descriptions and pictures, there's still a lot that is unknown about the movie that will launch an entire shared movie universe for DC properties.

The trailer opens with various recordings of talking heads discussing Superman's role in the world.  It's very clear he has made an undeniable impression on the world after Man of Steel.  Like Pa Kent said, he would change the world.  That theme carries through strongly, as does the impression he left after destroying much of metropolis.

There is a statue built in Superman's honor, to show the reaction and love of his supporters, but the "False God" sprayed across the chest shows just how polarizing of a figure he really is.  Among the disparate opinions heard in the voice-overs during shots of a skyline and the statue interspersed with hero shots of Superman, we hear Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor say"we know very well now, don't we.  Devils don't come from hell beneath us, but from the sky."

We then get to hear Jeremy Irons's Alfred give more of a voice to that sentiment, saying that the feeling of powerlessness experienced by good men (likely speaking to Bruce/Batman referring to Lex Luthor and others) can lead them to become cruel.

The rest of the trailer is comprised of some action shots of Batman's vehicles and the Caped Crusader himself (looking even more beefy than the first pictures indicated), followed by a shot of what appears to be the first face-off between Batman and Superman.  We get our first sample of the Batfleck voice, which is modulated and amplified by the Bat Armor he's wearing (like from The Dark Knight Returns).  Batman simply says "Tell me, do you bleed?"  Followed by "You will."

This trailer doesn't establish or reveal a lot beyond tone and setting.  We already know what many characters look like, and the title itself tells us Batman and Superman find themselves at odds, so the biggest reveal is the world in which we find these two hero's meeting, which is an unsurprisingly dark and conflicted world.

How do you feel after seeing this trailer?  Lets hear about it in the comments!
