The Ant-Man Teaser Trailer is Finally Here!

After it's success with the (initially) questionable Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel is starting to get a little bolder.  Over the next few years, we may start to see some really off the wall stuff put into live action comic book movies.  Guardian's of the Galaxy was an excellent first step, and the new trailer for Ant-Man suggests it could be as well.

This movie has been plagued with issues since it's inception nearly a decade ago.  Anyone that has followed the film for a while knows that it was originally Edgar Wright's brainchild, and things were looking down when he parted ways with the project.

After Wright left, many people began to lose faith in the property, and there was what appeared to be a circus of writers and directors paraded through Marvel's office, until they came to a halt with Peyton Reed (The Break Up and Bring it On) as Director, and  Adam McKay (just about anything with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly) to revise Edgar Wright's script.  Most people thought this new selection spelled doom for the film, although I'm not sure Edgar Wright was the best choice from the start.

It definitely looks like a Marvel movie, but it seems to have a nice edge from the strong comedy experience with the cast and crew, much like Guardians of the Galaxy did.  A little on the nose joke about the name of the hero as well definitely shows us the concept won't be taken too seriously, although the rest of the teaser is definitely more serious.

A more in depth breakdown is on its way, but you can see the first teaser trailer below and let me know what you think in the comments!

Ant-Man will hit theaters July 17th, 2015, starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang (Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross (Yellowjacket).
