New Ninja Turtles Trailer Demonstrates More Ninja Action

Another TV spot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has dropped, and the action looks amazing.  I feel like this movie looks better and better with each trailer, although there has been an incredible backlash against Michael Bay, even though he isn't actually the one directing the film, he's merely a producer.

There has been a tremendous backlash against Transformers: Age of Extinction, even though I would argue it's a reasonably enjoyable movie (for what it was).  Hardcore Turtles fans have been especially displeased with the Shredder tease, which some think looks like they turned him into a Transformer, which is an even more sore subject with the fanboy hate targeted at Transformers: AoE.

Given, the scene in reference was just an out of context silhouette of Shredder, but people love to find something to hate.  Transformers did set a box office record in China and has the highest opening weekend take for the United States box office, so it will be interesting to see how it fares, come August.

It seems like the financial fate is firmly tied to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy.  If the newest Marvel installment meets major box office success, there could be trouble for the Turtles in a half shell.  Considering Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel's first cosmic installment, there are some risks associated, but it's going to be a major franchise expansion, and based on the 17 minute preview, it looks like it will definitely be some stiff competition.
