The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Final Trailer

In 2002, Sam Raimi's Sider-Man did wonders to help pave the way for the more modern era of comic book movies.  A few years later, Spider-Man 2 proved that sequels can be as good as the original, then it all came crashing down with Spiderman 3.

Despite the failure of Spider-Man 3, many people were still conflicted when they opted to reboot the universe entirely instead of continuing the story of Peter Parker's Spider-Man.

Despite the fanboy tears and gnashing of teeth on the internet, The Amazing Spider-Man was actually fairly well received.  While Mark Webb did retread many elements established by Sam Raimi, the movie stood on its own and effectively relaunched the Spider-Man universe.

As we near the launch of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, many people have expressed concerns over details, such as the number of villains packed into the sequel and understandable comparisons to Spider-Man 3 have been made, but I'm still hopeful.

Spider-Man 3's issue was one of pacing and structure.  The presence of multiple villains was not the inherent issue, so I'm hoping (expecting) this will be handled much better by Mark Webb.

Either way, the final trailer was just released and I would say it speaks for itself.  I'm convinced and I'll be there opening day.  Enjoy.

  1. I really enjoyed the first one but I have to say its my pet peeve to see the "too many villains" trope in a comic book movie. I've never seen it turn out well.
